GMO AND PESTICIDE POLICY

In recent years there are acute anxities about the food safety in our public opinion. In food chain, usage of agricultural medicine and chemicals are important problems beside the environmental pollution.

To assure healthy and safety food that is desired in nutrition from the market area in a simple way becomes impossible. However, using safety food will be possible by installing good system and corresponding laws. For this purpose, as a firm we make contractual agriculture and within the good agricultural practices, we keep records of the farmers.

Commercial name of the pesticide, application date, application dose are kept and the harvest date is determined by controlling these records by our technical team.

Good agricultural practices requires locally and coordinated study with the farmers in the vegetable and fruit products which are produced not by genetic-modified.

In the agricultural production process ; acceptable methods are chosen within a coordination from the feed selection to the plantation, seeding production, harvesting and carrying stages and from seed to harvest they are controlled and their records are taken.

Good agricultural practices were established onto an understanding which is about farm administration systems, nutrition chains, insects, weeds and diseases that are within ecological and biological interactions. It also tends onto sustainability and improvement of natural sources.

Pesticide is used in minimum quantity in raw materials which will be processed in food industry, in order to reach the quality that is declared according to economical efficiency and specifications.
1. The products / materials with minimum application quantities that causes minimum leftover are chosen.
2. Application number / quantity can be reduced by comparing the maximum quantities that are recommended in the label.
3. After application of medicine it is abided to the standby time duration. And if it is required first harvest interval is extended.
4. Alternate chemical program is used.
5. Degrade chemical products are chosen.
6. Instructions and announcements of Ministry of Agriculture are observed.
7. Our agricultural staff has certificate about pesticide applications.
8. In cyclical, we give trainings by holding farmers meetings.

Technology of recombinant DNA that is also called genetic engineering supply unlimited possibilities to execute gene combinations which can not be found in natural conditions. In fact, genetically modified organisms (GMO) includes parts of foreign DNA in its genome is manufactured today.

About almost over 40 products including maize, soybean, cotton, tomato and potatoes have been released and growed commercially.

In our country, it is not allowed to cultivate products with GMO. Controlled plant essays are made only for experiments. As a firm we don’t use feeds with GMO. We take written engagements for not being GMO from the firms that we purchase feeds.

Our purpose is to continue production which is done by using high technology with maximum hygiene laws to protect and cover human health.
